Greetings Science Educators and Friends

School is now in session. At TDC this month we have exciting Saturday science programs to add even more excitement to your child's school learning experience. There are three classes each Saturday starting at noon. As always the classes are free but we do encourage donations. Also, see the article about Nature Kids. These classes are for kids three to five years old. These classes give you and your child an exciting interactive time together at TDC in the Nature Kids classroom.

TDC's Shannon Escobedo & Janet Berry,
with Sandy Cha from Wells Fargo...

During August we have had a change in staff as head Groundskeeper. Ian Vowter will take over in that position of Groundskeeper. We thank Derek Constable for his dedication as Groundskeeper as he takes on a new job in Clovis. Ian has been working with Derek for the past six months and is already making the position his own. Thank you both for keeping TDC safe and clean.

The Discovery Center is a not-for-profit 501(c) (3) that does not receive any direct grants from governmental sources. We depend entirely on schools and the public's participation in our programs along with contributions from private foundations and the public. On Tuesday August 18th we received a very generous grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation in the amount of $5,000.00 in unrestricted support. We are most appreciative of Wells Fargo's support and thank Sandy Cha for making the presentation to Executive Director Janet Berry and Education Coordinator Shannon Escobedo in front of our Gemini Space Capsule.

See you soon,
