Toddlers learn all about nocturnal
animals this week...

Do you want get your toddlers ready for Kindergarten? Get them the headstart they need at Nature Kids classes at The Discovery Center! This month is all about a very special set of creatures - nocturnal animals. Your little ones will learn how these types of animals are different from those that sleep during the night. We'll teach them about the different habits and characteristics of all types of nocturnal animals.

Nature Kids toddler classes are from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. every Wednesday this month at The Discovery Center. Bring your 3 to 5-year olds for this special promotion: Your first Nature Kids class free, then just $20/month for TDC members, and $32/month for non-members.

  • January 6, 2010 - Mammals
    We will learn about what mammals sleep during the day and run around at night. Bring your little ones and they will hear stories about little creatures awake when your kids are sleeping. We will be making little bats for your kids to take home.
  • January 13, 2010 - Birds
    Bring your children and find out what birds to when they are awake. What types of birds are awake at night? Do they see better in the dark?
  • January 20, 2010 - Reptiles
    Do reptiles sleep at night? Do they look different than the ones that are awake during the day? Do they eat different things? Are their eyes bigger than the ones awake during the day?
  • January 27, 2010 - Insects
    Do you ever hear crickets outside at night? What other bugs sleep during the day? What bugs sleep at night? How are they different from each other?
